NRG Edge supports three environments on an ongoing basis: Development (Dev), User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and Production. The Dev environment is the website developer's local machine environment with a Docker, Virtualbox Magnolia or Magnolia bundle instance. The UAT environment consists of one AWS virtual machine, and the Production environment has 3 AWS virtual machines and a load balancer.
We employ automated DevOps with Jenkins build servers and an S3 light development repository. Full backups are automated nightly with two Disaster Recovery (DR) options available: a standard DR with warm standby and restart of Author and Public VM's with prior nightly backup; or a fully-mirrored production environment in a separate AWS zone with real-time failover.
